Transcript:

While the plant is healthy and growing, the root zone exudes small amounts of sugar. That feeds nearby organisms and helps draw water into the plant.

Mannanase breaks down those sugars—taking long sugar chains and turning them into many smaller ones. That raises the local sugar around the roots and drives water into the plant faster and more efficiently.

Phosphatase takes organic or tied-up phosphorus, cleaves it, and makes it more and more available over time.

Best Practices for Algae Prevention in CEA

Algae often grows unseen in tanks and lines, then dies and becomes biofilm that clogs emitters and destabilizes pH. Prevent it by regularly draining/cleaning storage and maintaining a small, steady upstream sanitizer residual in the holding tank rather than shocking downstream. (8min)
